This is a fully structural suspension bridge. The deck is thin and flexible, but when complete the whole structure is rigid and can take two fully laden goods trains with ease.
The bridge relies on the two piers to be firmly fixed to the layout board. In addition, the two ends of the deck must be fixed to the layout board, otherwise the suspension cables will pull the deck ends upwards.
This bridge takes 2 N Gauge tracks. The photos show a single OO track.
Fairly simple to build, the trickiest part is threading the cotton for the cables and adjusting the rigging.
